Spa Vacation: Good For Work!

Saturday May 15, 2004

Do you have a hardworking spouse who can't imagine taking time off for a spa vacation? A new study says it might just make you work better.

Cornell University researchers polled destination spagoers vs. people who didn't vacation at a spa. They found that, on their return home, the spagoers believed that they :

-led business affairs with more acumen, energy and creativity.

-returned to work significantly more energetic, alert and “in the zone” when it came to business matters.

-found decision-making was enhanced and their ability to handle challenges was markedly improved.

-felt significantly more focused and alert.

The destination spagoers liked the opportunity to relax mentally. They enjoyed the physical activity and healthy food. And they arrived home happier and more alert when dealing with business issues than when they left home.
