Top Ten Destination Spas

Friday January 7, 2005
To start off the New Year, I've compiled my list of Top Ten Destination Spas in the United States. Destination spas are a select group of spas that offer a total spa experience -- spa cuisine, interesting treatments, outdoors programs, exercise classes, meditation, yoga, lectures and more. Many people use them to lose weight or jumpstart a healthy new lifestyle. Prices range anywhere from $250 per person, per day, based on double occupancy, at places like the excellent Red Mountain Spa in Ivins, Utah, to $6,000- plus per week at the super-exclusive Golden Door in Escondido, Ca., an all-female resort that serves just forty women a week. The price is all-inclusive: rooms, meals, classes, lectures and sometimes spa treatments (though you may want more. Most destination spas have minimum stays of anywhere from two nights to a week. Find out who The Top Ten Destination Spas are now.
