Theft and the Spa

I just came across a new point of spa etiquette I never thought to include -- don't steal products from the treatment room. It seems obvious, but those products are expensive and are not included in the price of your treatment. Furthermore, if you take something you don't know how to use properly you could really harm yourself. Here's a first-hand story I heard from an instructor in esthetician school: a woman got a 30% glycolic acid peel. When the esthetician returned to the room the bottle was gone. As it turned out,the woman had slipped the bottle into her purse. At home she decided that if a 30% strength peel was good, a 100% strength peel would be better. She seriously burned her skin -- not like a sunburn but permanent disfigurement. It was a terrible price to pay for being greedy for results.
