Getting Rid of Cellulite

Last night I ran into a reporter for a major metro daily who wrote a story that said there is no way to get rid of cellulite . She looked into all the scientific data, she said, and there's no proof that cellulite treatments work. "They're just scamming you," she said. The problem with that outlook is that there are no scientific studies that prove that organic food tastes better either -- but it does!

When I was in my 20s I had cellulite on the backs of my thighs. Then I started doing movement therapy, which literally changed the way I walked. I wasn't doing it for cellulite, but one day I noticed the cottage cheese look was, if not gone, drastically diminished (probably because moving in a new way improved the circulation to my skin.)

I’ve read all the articles that say it’s genetic and there’s nothing you can do about it. But with a personal experience like that, I don't care if there's no scientific evidence that you can treat cellulite.

I do think it's important to be aware that there are no quick fixes. You can't go get a cellulite treatment or slap on some cream and expect much change. But you can change your diet for the better, develop healthy habits like skin brushing , and yes, put thought and effort into how you actually walk and move. See if it helps. And even if it doesn't, you’ll probably feel better.
