Westin Upgrades Its In-Room Massage

Sunday September 30, 2007
Having a therapist show up with a dinky massage table for an in-room massage just doesn't cut it anymore. Westin Hotel & Resorts is delivering spa ambience as well. Forty minutes before an in-room massage, a "spa basket" arrives with a fresh flower, a spa music CD, a bottle of water, a healthful treat like dark chocolate, a selection of plant-based aromatherapy oils and room sprays for the treatment, and a letter explaining what to expect from the treatment along with tips for relaxation and enjoyment.

The flower and aromatherapy oil go on a shelf under the face cradle on the treatment table, which is unusually large and outfitted with heated padding, plush double fleecing and Westin’s Heavenly Bed linens.

“We designed our new in-room spa experience to appeal to the growing segment of travelers who expect uncompromised luxury, but may prefer the comfort and privacy of their room over a communal spa,” said Sue Brush, senior vice president of Westin Hotels & Resorts. “This program is also ideal for business travelers, who often have a small window of time for relaxation and pampering.”

Westin’s in-room spa experience is currently available at 64 properties and is being rolled out worldwide. The average cost for an in-room massage is $150.

I recently spent time at the Westin Cancun Resort. I did not receive the in room treatment but the entire resort has a soothing spa ambiance and is refreshing, healthy, and stimulating. I think Westin has a great idea and I enjoyed every inch of the resort. I did receive spa services other than the in room and they were amazing. Any person who enjoys health, and relaxation this is the place to be when your not home.
