Last year Oprah Winfrey took 40 deserving women and ten lucky ones who won a contest to Miraval in Tucson, Arizona, her favorite destination spa. This year Oprah has moved on, but Miraval is holding the contest themselves. From now until August 31, 2008, you can nominate people on the Miraval website, explaining why they're "most in need" of a spa vacation in 50 words or less. The ten winners will enjoy a four-day, three-night retreat at Miraval Tucson. "The past year has been filled with layoffs, natural disasters and home foreclosures," says the press release. "Miraval wanted to continue giving back to those who both need and deserve a relaxing spa vacation." There are two catches. One is that how deserving you are doesn't matter because the winners will be selected at random. You also have to pay your own airfare. So it's okay to have a sob story. But your sister can be stressed out by her $200,000 a year job and still win.
