Spa Experience at Grand Central Station

Sunday September 16, 2007
If you pass through Grand Central Station in New York City, keep an eye out for the "Spa Experience" coming October 31-Nov. 3, 2007. Fifty spas from around the world will have exhibits where they give free mini-treatments and talk to people about what makes their spa special. Participating spas include Tuscon's Miraval, Anguilla's CuisinArt Resort & Spa and India's Ayurmana Spa at Kumarakom Lake Resort. You can find out about places you've never heard of before, and then narrow your list down. "This is an extraordinary opportunity for travelers to experience and learn first-hand which spa is right for them," says Sallie Fraenkel, Chief Operating Officer of Spa Finder, Inc., which is sponsoring the four-day event.

The Spa Experience will also feature two demonstration stages where you can experience the latest spa treatments and products, and seminars led by experts in fitness, wellness, diet, beauty, and home spa design. Four beauty companies -- Kama Ayurveda, Clarins Skin Spa, Jane Iredale and MD Skincare by Dr. Dennis Gross -- will set up "Spa Retreat Centers," private areas where visitors can receive one of the companies' signature treatments, such as an Alpha Beta Face Peel from MD Skincare and make-up applications from Jane Iredale.

Completing Grand Central's spa transformation, restaurants and shops throughout the terminal will feature spa-related specials, such as special menu item, book signings, and product sales. The four-day event is free to the public. For more information and a schedule go to to the SpaFinder website.
