SAN JOSE - AYOMA LifeSpa will premiere at Hotel Valencia, Santana Row in June 20, 2003 The spa is exclusively designed to provide its clientele with Ayurvedic therapy - a Science of Life in India, dating back 5,000 years, announced Reenita Malhotra, internationally acclaimed Ayurvedic Clinician and CEO and founder of Ayoma, Inc
Opening the AYOMA LifeSpa at this time is a major milestone. According to Reenita, "Living a healthy life has taken on new meaning. In more recent months, the concern about the rising cost of health care and the decline of medical services has become the catalyst for individuals to take charge of their health. People are being forced to put more emphasis on preventative health care and less on routine visits to the doctor's office."
Ayurveda's philosophy is to empower individuals with a better understanding of their bodies. The process maximizes health through herbal personal care, diet, massage and other natural treatments, exercise, art, and environment. Other philosophies and alternative medicines such as Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Martial Arts, Yoga, and Thai Massage have descended from Ayurveda.
Jacquelyn Helser, Director of AYOMA LifeSpa, anticipates immediate interest in AYOMA and Ayurvedic philosophy and treatments from Bay Area residents. "Despite the antiquity of this approach, it is easily understood and adaptable to busy modern lives, helping us to achieve a healthy balance for better living," she said.
AYOMA, Inc. Westernized the traditional Indian oils, scents, cuisine, and teas used in the Ayurvedic treatments which are presented in a peaceful, warm, and luxurious Indus environment. Reenita Malhotra inherited the knowledge and practice of Ayurveda as a child. She was born and raised in Bombay, India. After completing her education in the United States and spending time in the Orient, the opportunity to package the traditional herbs used in the Ayurvedic treatment presented itself. In 1999, the exclusive line of AYOMA's Ayurvedic products and services were introduced. Today they are offered at prestigious hotels and spas throughout the world. Reenita is an international Ayurvedic Clinician and spokesperson. She has trained and lectured in Japan, China, Europe, and the United Kingdom, as well as throughout the United States. She is an educator and lecturer at California Pacific Medical Centers Institute of Health Healing and at Osher Center of Integrative Medicine in San Francisco and created the Ayurvedic certificate course for the American Spa Therapy Certifi-cation Council (ASTECC). Reenita provides Ayurvedic consultations at the California Pacific Medical Centers Institute of Health & Healing and is writing a book titled with Chronicle due to be released in January 2005.
