QUESTIONS FOR THE SPA GUIDE

Answer to Question 14:

Thanks for visiting the Spa Site and reading the Enchantment article. I am not in any way associated with Enchantment. The article was so positive because we had such a wonderful time. It was one of those rare vacations where absolutely nothing went wrong and everything we did delighted us. We have had vacations that we were not nearly as pleased with.

We often travel with a couple from Atlanta. My husband and the other husband planned this trip without the wives knowing but could not agree on a destination. We ended up in Sedona. They ended up in Jamaica. I think it was the right choice for both of us. While the casitas in Sedona were very nice, we both thought the other couple might not think they were grand enough for them. Also, we like to strike out on our own and explore. They like to have everything at hand as you find in all-inclusive resorts.

Enchantment is a short distance from Sedona in its own canyon. It made a great focal point for the visit, but we spent quite a bit of time away from the resort hiking, horseback riding, ballooning, shopping in Sedona, etc. If we didn't have a car, I'm not sure we would have enjoyed the visit as much. However, there is a trolley that runs from the resort to Sedona.

The spa is quite small - only two treatment rooms as I remember. But it was not crowded. We often worked out in the fitness center alone. And since this was not intended to be a spa visit, it was a nice surprise to try massage therapy for the first time.

We found a great deal of privacy. We hardly saw any of the other guests - which we really appreciated. Some people may not.

As for the food - we had planned to eat at a different restaurant every night, but we thought the food was so good and the terrace view of the sun setting on the red rocks of Boynton Canyon so breathtaking, we didn't want to go any where else. We didn't stay as long as you plan to, however, and we might have wanted a different experience on nights 5,6 and 7. L'Auberge, a gourmet French restaurant overlooking Oak Creek, was another restaurant we had intended to try but didn't get around to.

There are lots of nice places to stay in Sedona. Enchantment was exactly right for us. Los Abrigados in downtown Sedona and L'Auberge de Sedona in Oak Creek were also highly recommended to us.

I hope this helps. Have a wonderful trip and let me know how it turns out!
