THE EQUINOX SKI TOURING CENTER
Enjoy nature's gifts in winter at the Equinox Ski Touring Center. The Touring Center and retail/rental shop are located on Union Street at the Golf Club, just a short walk from the hotel's front door. Here you will find a full service shop and PSIA certified instructors to introduce you to the sport or to improve your technique.
Glide over 35km of groomed trails and tracked terrain located in two distinct areas. On the village trails at the Gleneagles Golf Course, there are open vistas, gentle meadow skiing with a few challenging short hills and a skating track with striking views of the surrounding mountains.
On the trails at Mt. Equinox on lands managed by the Equinox Preservation Trust, skiers will find scenic woodland trails offering varying degrees of terrain and excellent off-track opportunities.
Our Nordic ski shop offers a complete line of Helly Hansen clothing, Salomon boots and bindings, Fischer and Trak skis, and assorted winter clothing and other items of interest.
The lounge is open on weekends, serving hot soups and warm drinks.
Full day tours. If you ski at an intermediate level or above, try our full-day tour of the back country. This is a rigorous out-of-track tour which includes rentals, lunch, and your guide.
Ice skating. Enjoy the outdoors on skates this winter. Rental skates and tickets are available at the Touring Center on Union Street.
Snowshoeing featuring state-of-the-art Tubbs snowshoes. Enjoy backwoods exploring as well as an aerobic workout while enjoying the scenery around the pond or in the Green Mountain National Forest.
Vacation Camps. During Christmas and Presidents' Weeks, youngsters can enjoy the great outdoors in a daily organized program of cross country skiing, sledding and skating.
Enjoy all of the services of the Equinox on our Nordic ski package or vary your activities with one day of alpine skiing at either Stratton or Bromley and one day of Nordic skiing at the the Touring Center.
