Guest Rooms
at
The Don CeSar Beach Resort & Spa

The Don CeSar has just completed a $20 million enhancement (actually $19,980 million according to General Manager, John Marks), allotting $65,000 to re-do each guest room. The goal was to complete the makeover in time for Super Bowl XXXV in Tampa.

The rooms are, in essence, completely new. Walls were stripped to the studs, rebuilt and finished with crown molding. Bathrooms were completely replaced and all new custom furniture was brought in. Large white plantation shutter wall treatments, ceiling fans, sky-blue ceilings, and large windows that open onto semi-circular white wrought-iron balconies provide a light tropical island ambiance. Each room has a view of water (some better than others). Beds received special attention with 1400-coil Posturpedic mattresses and box springs, goose down pillows, plush comforters, crisp white duvets, and 220 thread count sheets embroidered with The Don CeSar logo.

Bathrooms now have granite vanities, marble tile floors and walls, and new bathtubs and fixtures. The tub in Room 215 is extra long, which makes for great relaxing soaks using the Gilchrist & Soames bath amenities.

Each room has been upgraded to two phone lines and high speed Internet access. All rooms feature at least a 27-inch television set. Oversized suites, such as Room 215, have 32-inch televisions, JBL stereos and DVD players, as well as bathrooms with a 13-inch TV and an additional phone.

The 700 suite, once occupied by Bill Clinton during his presidency, offers spacious living areas. The twin two-level Penthouses feature spiral staircases, fireplaces, and out-of-this-world balconies.

In addition to the guest rooms, there are new front doors, new elevator cabs, and upgrades to the lobby that include a new mahogany bar, upholstery, and window treatments.

Renovations slated for 2002 include doubling the size of the Spa, rebuilding the Beachcomber Bar, and updating the Penthouses.

Guests of The Beach House Suites by The Don CeSar enjoy full kitchens, food shopping service, and all the amenities available to guests of The Don.
