This year-round, away-from-it-all spa retreat in the heart of the Colorado Rockies in an area once believed to be rich in gold and other precious minerals, is now known to be rich in the beauty of its pristine mountains, woodlands, meadows, and wetlands. This was once a summer retreat of Chief Niwot, a Southern Arapaho hero and peace-maker of the late 1800's.

Gold Lake Mountain Resort offers lodging in the form of 18 unique, cozy, private cabins.

Dine at Alice's in the rustic splendor of the 100 year old lodge. Watch the sunset over Long's Peak as you relax in the dining room's hand hewn cherry and oak chairs. Soak up the ambiance created by blown glass oil lamps and fine art works. Try delicious wild game, fresh fish, and gourmet vegetarian dishes. Start with organic, whole grain breads and finish with a fresh baked desserts and a cappuccino.

For a more casual meal, try Karel's Bad Tavern, also located in the main Lodge. Karel's features a lighter, simpler, menu in a more casual atmosphere, as well as a large selection of bar games for your enjoyment. 

Winter brings the opportunity for ice skating (under a full moon!), relaxing in the lakeside hot pools, warming up during a lakeside BBQ and bonfires, sledding, sleigh rides, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing - all on the grounds of the Gold Lake Mountain Resort. Equipment for most activities is available to overnight guests free of charge.

When you're ready to come in from the cold, Gold Lake Mountain Resort's spa is waiting to give you warmth, relaxation, and renewal.

The Spa at Gold Lake offers Eclectic, Shiatsu, and Deep Tissue Massage Treatments as well as Craniosacral Therapy, Aromatherapy Facial , Reflexology, and Whole Body Treatments featuring Thallossotherpy, Salt and Herbal Glow, Ananda Body Warmer, or Rocky Mountain Clay Body Masque.

Coming Soon! ...Watsu - A unique therapy in which both therapist and client are immersed in warm Rocky Mountain spring water. Gently cradled in the confident arms of your therapist you are rhythmically rocked in a weightless state. Feel your tension melt away as your body is stretched and pressure points are activated "Shiatsu Style" to complete the experience. Available seasonally May-October.

The warmer months offer a huge selection of outdoor activities including fly fishing, canoeing, sailing, hiking, mountain biking, trampoline, volleyball, horseshoes, croquette, lakeside hot pools, kayaking. Horseback riding tours through the surrounding Roosevelt National Forest can be added to any overnight stay.
