Kringlan
Shopping Mall
Kringlan has around 130 shops, restaurants and services. There
are a number of clothing stores,
many of them featuring internationally known designers. There are also stores offering jewels, accessories, shoes, leather
goods, porcelain goods, toys, books, souvenirs and
Icelandic specialties. Opening hours for Kringlan stores and shops are generally 10-6:30 Monday through
Wednesday, 10-9 on Thursdays, 10-7 on Fridays, 10-6 on Saturdays and 1-5 on
Sundays.
You can get a VAT tax refund for goods you take out of the country. Be
sure to ask for an Iceland Refund Cheque wherever you see the Iceland
Refund Tax-free Shopping logo. You can cash the check at the Keflavik
Airport in the Departure Hall or use it in the Saga Boutique onboard all
Icelandair flights.
The store pictured above and the two following photos offers food, bath
and body products as well as herbs and remedies. Purity
Herbs cream and oil products are made exclusively from natural, raw
materials where the wonderful healing and protective powers of Icelandic
mountain herbs are of primary importance.
The red bottle above
contains Oil for Lovers which can be used as a
sensual massage oil, in bath water or in aromatherapy oil burner. The
oil affects the body as well as the mind. This oil can and may be used
all over the body even on the most sensual and sensitive parts of the
body. Oil for lovers contains many herbal extracts and essential oils,
which have the reputation of being Aphrodisiacs. Thirteen herbal
extracts and twelve essential oils are used in this mysterious oil. The
fragrance is spicy and exotic.
Artemisia Abrotanum is a known aphrodisiac along with Turnera Diffusa.
Ylang Ylang and Satureia Hortensis are few of the essential oils used. Urtasmidjan (The Herbal
Workshop) health products for the skin are made from Icelandic medicinal
herbs. The production is based on old traditions in the use of such
herbs, as well as modern knowledge concerning the chemical composition
and healing powers of the plants.
