The Grounds and Buildings of The Westin Turnberry Resort, Scotland Built by the Glasgow and South Western Railway and opened in 1906, the Turnberry Hotel and railway station was the first golfing resort of its kind. Today it's still a magnificent property, even more so since undergoing a $20 million enhancement in 2001. Turnberry now provides 221 bedroom accommodations, with 89 new rooms offered in 9 cottages and 12 lodges, overlooking the golf courses and coastline. |
