I am wearing a belt that loops around my legs and waist. It is attached to a very long blue rope. A man wearing a similar belt is holding the other end. A five foot white rope connects my belt to Jeff's. We are a third of the way up the 50 foot climbing wall, the highest in the US. My left foot is standing on a two inch diameter knob. My right foot is on a knob a few feet above and to the right of the other. My right hand grasps another knob four inches above that. I am reminded of Spiderman. Patricia calls up to remind us to breath. My left hand struggles to find a knob. Jeff reaches over to help. The crowd below cheers. Six other couples attempt to reach the top. One does. It doesn't matter that the rest of us don't. As Patricia keeps telling us (in addition to "Breath!"), "It's the journey that counts". I am thankful I can share this experience with my husband.
