Romeo has gas. I feel sorry for the couple riding behind me in Romeo's odiferous wake. Romeo does not respond to my attempts to make him walk faster. It really doesn't matter since we are riding behind Jeff on Spud. Spud frequently stops for a snack - weeds, leaves from trees, grass, and anything else he can reach. We go by pastures with groundhogs, rabbits, and bulls with magnificent horns. We pass parts of the Links Golf Course. We see deer in the woods. We see lost golf balls in the woods. I am glad I am wearing a helmet. Before the ride started at Nemacolin Woodlands Equestrian Center, we had been encouraged to close our eyes while the horse took at least ten steps. Romeo has ignored all of my attempts to guide him. He has probably been on the trail hundreds of times and could walk it in his sleep. I trust him. I close my eyes and feel him walk along comfortably. I am pleasantly surprised that I am not sore after the ride. The yoga session must have stretched me out. Patricia would be glad to know I enjoyed the journey.
