While walking around Christiansted on St. Croix, I asked about spas on the island. The name Denovo Spa came up more than once, so I thought I would stop by and have a look. Charlene Springer very graciously offered to give me a tour and a brief description of the services provided at the spa. Denovo Spa & Therapy Centre provides complete skin and body care that reduces tension and relieves the negative effects of everyday stress. Denovo uses natural and aromatic herbs and oils to revitalize you with relaxing facials, exciting spa body treatments and specialty massages, including LaStone Therapy™. They offer professional nail care, makeup artistry and body waxing. For total body well being, you can enjoy Reiki, Siddha & Ayurvedic Shiro Dhara treatments. Wedding Packages and Spa Packages are also available. All of the spa's therapists are certified and required to complete continuing education classes according to national standards. Unfortunately, I didn't have time for a treatment, but I'll make time on my next visit.

Facial Treatments
- Classic European Facial: A luxurious facial with a deep cleansing, extractions, a relaxing face, neck and shoulder massage with aromatic oils, and a customized masque.
- Aromatherapy Facial: Enjoy the sensations of a warm Aromatherapy oils massage gently into face, neck and shoulders, complete with a cooling specialty masque.
- Manual Lymph Drainage: A European facial massage technique that stimulates drainage of toxins thru the lymphatic system. Great for all skin types with puffiness and pre/post-op clients.
- Acne or Deep Exfoliating Facial: Deep exfoliation using enzymes, hydroxy or lactic acids, or pumpkin peels or kerafole for congested skin. Suggest weekly series for acne.
- Teen Acne Facial: Especially designed for young adults. Includes exfoliation, extraction and masque or high frequency treatment. Instructions on prevention of permanent scarring and tips on sun protection.
Rejuvenating Facials
- Denovo Oxygen Facial: This decadent facial comes complete with deep exfoliation, specialty massage, collagen and vitamins and oxygen therapy for deep hydration and firming the skin. For most skin types.
- Multi Vitamin Facial: Great for aging or sun damaged skin. Improves skin’s youthful appearance with the introduction of antioxidants A, C & E. Benefits all skin types.
- Green Tea Facial: This facial uses a blend of exotic green teas for their antioxidant properties in improving circulation, while strengthening and firming the skin.
- Skin Lightening Treatment: Treatment using kojic and glycolic acid with a strong lightening agent. Can be added to a facial. Series recommended.
- Men’s Facial: Designed to alleviate shaving bumps, calm skin irritations, clean out clogged pores and reduce the occurrence of ingrown hairs.
- Purifying Back Treatment: Deep exfoliation using AHA body peel for back acne or dead skin buildup. With a soothing healing masque.

Exfoliating Treatments
- Chinese "Herbology" Polish: An exfoliating blend of Chinese herbs that soften and brighten skin tone.
- "Salt Glow" Body Polish: Granular mix of sea salts flavored with fresh orange, ginger or peppermint to invigorate and exfoliate.
Revitalizing
- Aromatherapy Body Wrap: Aromatic essential oils that promote the body’s healing and balancing power. (w/Acupressure & scalp massage)
Detox Body Treatments
- Arctic Algae Seaweed Wrap: Very stimulating, yet relaxing algae rich wrap. Great after illnesses or as energy booster.
- Aloe Lavender Body Wrap: Soothing treatment that calms overactive skin as well as nerves. Excellent
for sunburnt skin.- Moroccan Clay Body Wrap: An exotic blend of Red Moroccan Clay (high in iron) & Eastern essential oils
that nourish as well as draws impurities from skin.- Mud/Mint Therapy Wrap: Treatment great for underactive dull looking skin. Skin feels energized
and smooth.- Crucian Body Firming Wrap: A specialty herbs and essential oil cellulite treatment that stimulates and
self-cleanses the problem areas. Suggest series of (4) for best results.- Egyptian "Herbal Linen" or Ginger Wrap: Pure Egyptian linens, soaked in warm, de-stressing teas or fresh ginger.

Expert Body Treatments
- Therapeutic Body Massage: Ideal clinical massage using Swedish/Deep Tissue or Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) for clients with "chronic pain" from Fibromyalgia, MS, Arthritis, Post whiplash or Post-traumatic injury.
- Aromatherapy Body Massage: Pure aromatic essential oils to calm the nerves, heighten the senses and restore even the most tired bodies using a combination of Swedish/Deep Tissue.
- Craniosacral Therapy (CST): A technique that evaluates the craniosacral system (tailbone to skull) seeking restrictions and facilitating the self-correcting forces of the body. A non-intrusive approach to wellness.
- Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD): A European technique using a pumping and draining motion to move lymph for various ducts in the body. An excellent detoxifying and relaxing treatment.
- Reflexology Foot Massage: An ancient Chinese technique using pressure point massage on reflex points on the feet to restore the flow of energy throughout the body. Great for tired and stressed feet.
LaStone™ Therapy
- LaStone™ Full Body Massage: A euphoric treatment using heated smooth basalt stones, and cold marble stones for a stimulating yet refreshing massage. Deeply relaxing, relieves stiffness and soreness and restores energy.

- Spa Pedicure: This luxurious foot treatment includes soaking in a blend of sea salt & essential oils, exfoliation with fine sand-like granules, a seaweed mint foot masque & a relaxing foot massage. Can be interchanged with lemon or glycolic treatment.
- Paraffin Treatments: A moisturizing treatment for dehydrated hands or feet. This heat treatment is great for tired feet, arthritic joints or to soften and nourish dry skin.
Eastern Therapy
- ShiroDhara Treatment: In this Ayurvedic Treatment, warm sesame oil is poured, in a fine stream, on the middle of the forehead (third eye), which triggers deep relaxation. A scalp, neck & shoulder massage ends this perfectly heavenly experience.
- Siddha Body Detox: A deep relaxing herb and warm essential oil treatment wrap that helps flush toxins from sore muscles. Great treatment alone or pre-massage.
