Say you're in the newly-remodeled Cancun Airport. Say you have lots of time before your flight. What do you do? Here are some ideas:

Shop

There is a large, new, duty-free shopping mall on the main floor where there is everything from Mexican crafts to liquor and perfume.

Dine

There are lots of choices on the main floor and TGI Fridays on the second floor.

Lounge

On the second level, you'll find the Business Lounge which is available for passengers of Air Canada, Iberia (and a few other airlines I can't remember) as well as guests of the Ritz-Carlton Cancun (which I happened to be!). The hotel concierge can arrange this for your upon checkout ($25 at the time of my visit). Inside the lounge are TVs, computers, drinks, snacks and lounging massage chairs. I was trying to leave Cancun during Hurricane Isadore. My flight was delayed four hours then eventually cancelled. In the interim, I had lots of time. I shopped and was very thankful I had access to that business lounge. I also ran across a spa...

The Salon Spa

The Salon Spa is located between the Business Lounge and Terminal A. I indulged in a badly-needed manicure. Services offered include:

     Massage ($1/minute during my visit)
          Seated or Regular
          Aromatherapy, Relax or Reflexology

     Facials

     Manicures
Regular, French, Polish Change, Acrylic Nails and Fill-ins

      Pedicures

     Hair
          Cut, Set, style, and braids

I have to say between the lounge and the spa, the time passed quickly and painlessly. All hotels should offer a lounge at the airport! All airports should consider adding a spa!! We would all be happier, calmer and more relaxed travelers. Bravo Cancun!
