While visiting
Cancun, I had an opportunity to travel 25 minutes south to Puerto Morelos to
tour the family-oriented, all-inclusive, all-suite Paradisus Riviera Cancun -
only 9 months old at the time of my visit. The resort is situated on a
5,000-foot beach and is close to other extraordinary beaches and attractions
such as Playa del Carmen, Xcaret, Akumal, and Xel-ha as well as world-famous
Mayan archeological sites such as Tulϊm, Cobα, and Chichen Itzα (tours to
these destinations are not included in the "all-inclusive").
The resort offers 500 guest suites including 96 ocean-view Superior Suites with private Jacuzzis and four first class Ambassador Suites located in 14 three-story bungalows. All suites measure 500 square feet and include a private terrace, private bathroom with hair-dryer, individually controlled air-conditioning, ceiling fan, satellite color TV, direct-dial telephone, alarm clock with radio, mini-bar and in-room safety deposit box. Two rooms have been especially adapted for wheelchair accessibility and the entire hotel complex is wheelchair-accessible.
The resort features four swimming pools (one Spa pool, one for children, one for activities and one lake-form), six restaurants, four bars, the Entertainment Theatre with different nightly shows performed by professionals (not resort employees who perform other functions during the day) and a spa.
Revive Spa houses a beauty parlor and fitness center with cardio machines (two steppers, two training bikes, weight center, two Stairmasters) and classes in Tai Chi and Yoga. Additionally, there are separate men's and women's locker rooms with saunas, Turkish bath and covered, open-air whirlpools and four treatment rooms - two inside, one in an outside palapa and another beachside. Treatments include:

Spa treatments and beauty services are not included in the "all inclusive".
In the Club House, the activity staff offers games & activities such as ping pong, badminton, volleyball, aerobics, water polo, beach soccer, beach volleyball, introductory classes to Tai Chi and Self-Defense for women and much more. Mini Club for children from 5 - 12 years old with service from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The Nautical Center offers the following water sports free of charge: Kayaks, canoes, windsurf, water bikes, sunfish sailing, and snorkeling.
