The Fountain Spa has two New Jersey locations -- the original at Route 17 N at Franklin Turnpike in Ramsey, and a second at The Shops at Riverside in Hackensack.
The Fountain Spas are known for being clean and professional, with good quality services. The original Ramsey location has a a big fountain out front and Roman-like columns in the locker rooms. The newer location in Hackensack is more modern, and maintains the fountain theme with a wall fountain in the "tranquility room" where you wait for your treatments. The waiting areas have tea, cookies and light snacks.
Fountain Spas offer all the usual massage modalities -- Swedish, hot stone, and deep tissue -- along with other offerings like the 110-minute "Well Being Massage" a blend of Swedish, Reflexology and Shiatsu.
Fountain Spas also offer a range of facials and services for men, teens and couples. One unusual service is the Dead Sea Mud Wrap that take place in a floatation tank. Basically, you're covered with mineral-rich mud while laying on a warm water-bed. Once you're wrapped up, the therapist turns a knob and the water-bed sinks down, and you feel enveloped. It feels great -- as long as you're not claustrophobic!
