Top 8 Spa Gifts

By , About.com Guide

Give the gift of relaxation with these wonderful spa gifts. I've picked some of my very favorite products that let you send your loved one to the spa, or create a relaxing, soul-soothing experience at home.

1. Spa Finder Gift Certificate

If you want to send your loved one to the spa with a gift certificate, Spa Finder is the way to go. Their gift certificate is accepted at more spas than any other (more than 3,500 world-wide) and you don't have to worry about them going out of business. The minimum is $50 but most people give $100 - $150. For more guidelines, read tips for buying a spa gift certificate.

2. Hot Stone Massage Set

Hot stone massages are usually $125 and up at a spa, but you can recreate the experience at home with this set. It comes with everything you need -- 50 polished volcanic basalt stones (which retain heat very well) of varying sizes, a heating unit, thermometer, spoon and instructional DVD. At $245, you could pay for it by using it just twice!

3. Spa Robe

This is the same spa robe that you'll experience at many famous resort spas. These robes have an exceptionally soft, creamy texture that just gets softer with time. Available in white, ivory, blue, pink, taupe and sage. $90.

4. Red Flower Candles

Red Flower candles are beautifully packaged with flower petals on top. Just be sure you toss the petals into your bath or use them as potpourri before you light the candles. They're made with essential oils and are non-toxic, with fragrances like Moroccan Rose. $34.

5. Tocca Beauty Candle Collection

Scented candles help transform any simple bath or home massage into a romantic spa experience. These super-chic Tocca candles come in any number of subtle, wondeful scents. They're the perfect gift for anyone -- girlfriend, lover, mom, colleague, even a guy. Just give him leather and martini! They're $36, but burn 60 hours. That's a lot of baths!

6. L'Occitane Verbana Harvest Body Salt Scrub

Salt glows to make your skin silky smooth cost $60 and up at the spa, but you can give this spa-worthy salt scrub as a gift for half the cost. I love the refreshing scent of lemon verbana and orange, combined with Mediterranean Sea salts. It's $30, and comes with a cute wooden scoop.

7. L'Occitane Shea Butter Softness Set

Once you've taken off the rough skin with a salt scrub, follow up with super-rich shea butter creams on your body, hands and feet. Shea butter is a natural fat from the seed of the karite tree, which grows in Africa. It's great for super-dry skins year-round (and anyone in winter.) This set of three creams (a $66 value) is $54.

8. Canyon Ranch Guide To Living Younger Longer

This book is the next best thing to a visit to Canyon Ranch. It gives you a firm foundation everything you need to live a long, vital life, including healthy relationships, exercise, nutritional intelligence, bodywork and massage and stress management, all delivered in a thoughtful informative way. I highly recommend it.
