Mohonk Mountain House, an enchanting mountaintop Victorian castle just 90 miles north of New York City, opened a fabulous new $13 million spa recently. The resort has been around since 1869, and most of the buildings date to the 1890s.
Mohonk Mountain House is great for families and hikers, and is one of the few resort spas that includes meals and exercise classes with its prices.
It has some great features for couples, including a co-ed waiting area, called "The Solarium", a co-ed outdoor Mineral Bath, and a Couple Suite with a fireplace. Here are some photos that give you an idea of what to expect.
