Why I Became A Massage Therapist
After school, I did my ACCA, but found accounts very boring. As I was good in massage, went to India, and did ITEC course, and later went to UK to do an aromatherapy course.
From then on all my clients have been coming to me. I have been doing massage for the last 20 years and I still love doing it.
Since last year I have developed a bit of arthritis in my fingers and have slowed a bit.
Well it has been rewarding, and of course doing massage is something that should come from within, and you enjoy doing it.
The disadvantage is it takes toll on you and can be damaging for your back and fingers in later stages.
My Life As A Massage Therapist
I have been working for last 20 years, but started my own practise just 6 months ago. I wish had started few years ago. Nothing is as good as having your own practice
My best part of work is still massage and love all my my work.
Lessons Learned
- To become a massage therapist, you must have the interest to do it. You have to give yourself completely when you perform your massages, as clients do feel your energy. If you are looking for making only money then I would strictly advise you NOT to take it as a career. You should take it as career only if you have passion for it and also want to help people to heal.
How Long I've Been A Massage Therapist
I have been a therapist for last 20 years
Where I Went To School & What I Thought Of It
When in school, I used to think it was so disgusting to touch anyone's skin. Now I love it as can help to heal them and when they leave the room, they feel very uplifted.
What I've Learned on My Journey
That more you give, more you receive, and if money is not your biggest criteria, you can make it
