Why I Became A Massage Therapist
I was in college for 3 years finishing a degree in Fire Science. At the end of my 3rd year I started developing severe migraines and back pains so I started seeing a chiropractor and massage therapist. After my first month I had "No Pain". It was a miracle to have someone touch me with the goal to help me and I surrendered my pain and trust to her. Right there I knew what I was called to do. I moved from Long Beach,CA and moved to Las Vegas,NV and went to Nevada School of Massage therapy. .
My Life As A Massage Therapist
I graduated from massage school October 2001. Since then I have worked in a chiropractor's office (where I gained most of my pathology/pain management experience), worked for the Rio spa, and owned my own business. In 2008 I became a Nevada State Certified Instructor for continuing education in massage therapy, and my recent great accomplishment is obtaining the position as Lead Massage therapist at Vdara Health and Beauty spa.
Lessons Learned
- Over the years I've become more aware of my clients needs and how to address them. My hands know exactly where my clients' pain is and how to relax their tension. I feel I have become a great healer, teacher, and professional therapist.
How Long I've Been A Massage Therapist
I've been a therapist for over 8 years
Where I Went To School & What I Thought Of It
Nevada school of massage therapy. Excellent education was provided and my love for eastern medicine was established at this school.
What I've Learned on My Journey
I've learned that massage can truly be a major health benefit for all people no matter their illness, stress, pains, and/or general needs (relaxation). It is the most requested service in spas across America today.
What I Wish I'd Known Before I Started
That I should have started earlier...right out of high school. I wish I could have traveled before I started to places such as China or Japan and learned their traditional eastern medicines/techniques and the ancient arts of healing.
